This fall, IMRF employers will elect one Executive Trustee. A nominee for Executive Trustee must be a chief executive officer, chief financial officer, executive, or department head for an IMRF employer. Petitions will be accepted through September 15, 2014.

August Employer Reminder:
IMRF and independent contractors

IMRF continually audits its employers to verify the correct implementation of IMRF policies, including whether independent contractors are properly classified. If we identify a classification error, IMRF may require your employer to pay retroactive IMRF contributions.

Your employer cannot simply designate an individual an independent contractor. A specific set of criteria must be met or the worker remains an employee.
